Rational Health Care Policy: In Search of a

More and more seniors are Medicare-eligible, incurring claims at a much greater rate than ever anticipated. If Medicare is funded primarily via "government" coffers, and there is more and more of a strain on "government" coffers, the government predictably seeks to keep payments to Medicare providers down.

Let's not stop there. Physicians earn a living by providing a valuable service. If they're not getting the amount they need from one population, likely - and reasonably - they'll get it from another. How do they make up this difference, and who do they make it up from? The commercial insured market? You bet.
